My name is Ivan Mosquera, and for more than two decades I have worked exclusively with high-caliber working dogs—developing, evaluating, and placing professionally trained family and personal protection dogs in private households around the world.
HighClass K9 was founded out of necessity, not opportunity.
Years ago, while searching for a protection-trained dog for my own family, I encountered an industry full of extremes: backyard breeders with unstable dogs, and polished operations importing and reselling dogs that looked impressive on video but lacked real-world stability, judgment, or suitability for family life. Everyone claimed to have the “perfect dog.” Very few understood what that actually meant.
That experience shaped the foundation of HighClass K9.
Over the years, the world of dog training and canine development has evolved, and so has our approach. We combine time-tested principles with modern evaluation methods to develop dogs that are not only capable, but stable, adaptable, and appropriate for real family environments.
What we do today goes far beyond training alone. We focus on selection, categorization, and long-term development, understanding that no two dogs—regardless of breed, lineage, or training—are truly the same. Just as no two families share identical dynamics, no single dog is universally “perfect.” The outcome depends on alignment.
This is why our process cannot be rushed, ordered, or replicated off the shelf. Exceptional dogs suitable for family and personal protection are built deliberately over time. They are not commodities, and they are never interchangeable.
