A family protection dog must be social just as a black belt in karate can be social. We don’t sell overly hyper borderline neurotic dogs typically used to find bombs, drugs or cadavers, which will bounce off your walls as soon as you take them home. The dogs we select and form have balanced drives which means they can either jog or hike with you all day or can lay by your side and watch TV. Most our dogs have pedigrees and most are beautiful but is not what impresses us, instead what we look for in a dog is a clear head, a dog that can think, with balanced drives, good temperament and solid nerves.
Training a dog in obedience can be an ongoing and lengthy process depending on the dog, the methods used, and the skill and understanding of both the trainer and the handler. The level of obedience the handler wishes to achieve with the dog is also a major factor in the time involved, as is the commitment to training by the handler.
